Cindy Auer, New York

auer

My name is Cindy Auer and I have been working for InfoEd in the SPIN department as an Information Specialist since January, 2008. I started working in-office and then switched to working from home after we relocated for my husband’s job.

I currently live in Highland, NY, which is right next to New Paltz. It’s a pretty nice place to live and we are surrounded by orchards, wineries, great restaurants, unique small businesses, and lots of scenic places to go hiking and bicycling.

I share my home with my husband, 8-year-old son, three tuxedo cats, and a bearded dragon. My family goes hiking regularly and we also enjoy other outdoor activities, such as camping and canoeing. We very recently climbed to the top of Slide Mountain, which is the highest peak in the Catskills.

Some of my other hobbies include reading, listening to music, and paper crafting. My family is also involved with our local library and my husband and I are den leaders for our local Cub Scout pack.

I miss being able to work from the office at times and getting to know everyone individually, but I’m thankful that I get to continue working for InfoEd while raising my family in a different location.

Eye of Newt

Original recipe makes 2 dozen newt eyes Change Servings
  • 12 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish

Check All Add to Shopping List

Directions

  1. Place all of the eggs into a large pot so they can rest on the bottom in a single layer. Fill with just enough cold water to cover the eggs. Bring to a boil, then cover, remove from the heat and let stand for about 15 minutes. Rinse under cold water or add some ice to the water and let the eggs cool completely. Peel and slice in half lengthwise.
  2. Remove the yolks from the eggs and place them in a bowl. Mix in the relish, mayonnaise, celery salt, mustard, and food coloring. Spoon this filling into the egg whites and place them on a serving tray. Round the top of the filling using the spoon. Place an olive slice on each yolk to create the center of the eye. Dab a tiny bit of mayonnaise in the center of the olive as a finishing touch.

Jason Perkins, North Carolina

AshevilleMy name is Jason Perkins and I have worked in SPIN as an Information Specialist for InfoEd Global since March of 2006.  I worked the first four and a half years at the office headquarters on Western Avenue in Albany, NY.  My time working remotely for the company began in November of 2010, when I relocated to North Carolina.

My decision to move to North Carolina was motivated by the fact that the majority of my family resides there, and I’ve also never been a fan of the longer winter season that upstate New York attracts.

I currently live in Cary, NC, which is a suburb of Raleigh.  Cary sits in a great a location, since it’s only 20 minutes East of Durham and 15 minutes West of Raleigh.   Cary has some nice attractions in its own right, but you’re also a short distance away from any entertainment that these two major cities provide on a daily basis.

Being in central North Carolina, you are also not too far from the beaches out East and the mountains to the West.   A few places that I’ve had the opportunity to visit are Emerald Isle and Ocracoke Island on the coast and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC.  The warmer climate down south has also benefited me because my two main hobbies are golf and tennis.  For the past couple years I have been involved in a local tennis league that plays during the Spring and Fall seasons, and I have also gotten the chance to play a variety of golf courses in the Triangle area.  Some of the courses that I’ve played include Raleigh Golf Association (RGA), Lochmere Golf Club in Cary and Crooked Creek in Fuquay-Varina, NC.

There are things that I miss about working and living in Albany, but I am also very happy with my decision to move here and very fortunate that I have been able to remain with InfoEd while settling in North Carolina.
